Wildlife in the heart of Prague
Despite being the largest city in the Czech Republic, vast parklands integrated into city planning allow for an abundance of wildlife!! 🐿🦆🌲🌳
Come with us as we find all the little pockets of nature, hidden through the Old Town. Our favourite spots for wildlife watching were:

📍 Střelecký ostrov
📍 Petřín Gardens
Order of appearance we observed:
Eurasian Jays (Garrulus glandarius) feeding on fallen acorns. Red Squirrels (Sciurus vulgaris) fleeting through the pine trees in the Petřín Gardens. A Eurasian woodpecker (Picus viridis) and Jackdaw (Corvus monedula), and Blackbird (Turdus merula) foraging for local insects on the Střelecký ostrov island. Tufted ducks (Aythya fuligula) diving for food along the The Vltava river, and a family of Nutria (Myocastor coypus) taking up residence on the Střelecký ostrov island.
